Untapped Workforce Breakfast Celebrates Diversity

January 30, 2020
By Bob Peters

Cornwall Ontario – A diverse workplace is one that includes ALL people no matter what their race, religion, age, gender or sexual orientation. A diverse workplace offers employers and staff an opportunity to see things from a different perspective and can often lead to employees that feel more accepted as they feel valued.

Untapped Workforce - Diversity in the Workplace

Explore the benefits of diversity in the workplace with the Employability Network over breakfast on Wednesday February 26 at 7:30am at the Cornwall Civic Complex.

“Often, when employees feel valued, they are loyal to the employer and there may be less turnover,” says Sarah Maynard, Case Manager with the City of Cornwall. “In the long run, having a diverse staff can help to build a great reputation for companies which in turn leads to increased business and a larger pool to hire from.”

Ms. Maynard will be joined by our special guest speaker Mayor Bernadette Clement and foreign worker recruitment expert, Éric Charlebois.

“More than ever, one of the greatest challenges of our world is learning to understand and work with one another,” says Mayor Clement. “Supporting the richness of diversity in our workplaces, and in our daily lives, leads to better decision-making and happier places!”

Along with the opportunity to hear from and ask questions to our expert panel you will learn about an exciting foreign worker recruitment program that can support you and your human resources needs.
