Getting Around Town… and Beyond
With direct connections to Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto, Cornwall residents are able to travel conveniently to many destinations. Local taxi companies and Cornwall Transit also offer excellent services for people to move around within the City.
Cornwall is serviced by four (4) trains that connect Cornwall to Toronto and other communities west along Highway 401, as well as four trains that connect Cornwall to Montreal. The Via Rail station is located at 1650 Station Road, just east of Pitt Street. It can be reached via taxi or by Cornwall Transit Route-1. Washrooms and Wifi internet are available at the station.

Inter-City and Commuter Bus

Two inter-city bus lines provide Cornwall residents with access to other neighbouring cities in Ontario and Quebec. Greyhound provides regular service to Ottawa, where connections are available to other major centres. The service is available on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 1:00 pm. Meanwhile, Coach Canada and its partner service Megabus provides regular service to Kirkland and Montreal to the east of Cornwall and Brockville, Kingston, Whitby, Scarborough and Toronto to the west. The Coach Canada/Megabus terminal is located at the Irving Service Centre on Brookdale Avenue, north of Highway 401.

Cornwall is well serviced by one of the most efficient public transit systems in Canada. Cornwall Transit operates Monday thru Saturday from 6:00am to 10:45pm. Regular, Handi-Transit, Community Bus services are offered. For more information:

Cornwall residents are fortunate to be located within 60 minutes of 2 international airports: Ottawa International Airport and Pierre-Elliot Trudeau Airport (Montreal).
The Cornwall Regional Airport is located 10km east of the City, near Summerstown. Cornwall Aviation operates domestic and international charter flights from the airport. The airport has a single 3,510 ft × 100 ft paved runway oriented east-west. The facilities include an airport commission hangar, general aviation lots and parking sites. The airport is open year round and is designated as an Airport of Entry for customs services for up to 15-seat passenger aircrafts. It is also a CANPASS airport.
Fuel is provided on a self-service basis 24 hours a day. Two types of fuel are available:
- Aviation Gas (100 LL)
- Jet Fuel
All grades of aviation oil are also available.
The airport is operated by the Cornwall Regional Airport Commission, which is jointly funded by the City of Cornwall and Township of North Glengarry. The Commission also leases a 3,000 sq.ft. commercial hangar and provides a limited number of tie-down facilities. The airport is also home to over 15 privately-held aircraft hangars, primarily used by recreational pilots. The construction of an additional fuel tank to supply jet fuel was completed in 2016. A runway expansion to 5,000 feet is currently being considered.
The Cornwall Regional Airport is located at 19407 Airport Road in South Glengarry Township. Airport Road runs east off Summerstown Road South off Exit 804 on Highway 401.
