What can you expect from a visit to the Historic SDG Jail?

The fully reimagined self-guided Tour experience is a bilingual tour option suitable for all ages. You will follow a clear, easy-to-use map through winding corridors and cell blocks, while thoughtfully curated exhibits reveal the site’s rich and fascinating history.

For those seeking a more immersive, story-driven experience, guided tours are led by their knowledgeable student guides, these tours run approximately 1.5 hours and bring the Jail’s history to life. Recommended for ages 12 and up, tickets should be purchased here in advance to secure your spot.

“We are pleased to share our new exhibits and tour offerings with the community,” said Becky Ranger, Historic SDG Jail Coordinator. “The space, the stories, and the history are riveting – guests are always surprised by what they see and learn when visiting the Jail.”

The Jail also hosts special events and night tours throughout the summer months. More information can be found on the official website or look for updates on Facebook and Instagram.

The Historic SDG Jail is operated by SDG Couties.
