Cornwall Ontario – Local artisans, small business owners and non-profit organizations can now book time in one of Cornwall’s pop-up shops.

Pop Up Shops Cornwall

Last year, pop-up shops were located at the small Cornwall Square parkette at the corner of Pitt and First. The unique shops quickly become popular with local residents and helped draw people to Downtown Cornwall. This year, the pop-up shops are scheduled to re-open June 14.

“I’m pleased to see this program return for another year,” said Mayor Bernadette Clement. “Local businesses have been hit hard by closures – necessary closures that help slow the spread of COVID-19. Now, restrictions permitting, the City of Cornwall can offer an affordable venue for sales and safe community interaction.”

The short-term rentals are available for $35 +HST a day. Each unit comes with tables, chairs, a patio umbrella, a plexiglass barrier, and COVID-19 related signage for the renter to use.

This year a fourth pop-up shop has been added to accommodate demand from vendors.

Book Online

“Our Pop-Up program was a huge success last summer and staff have been looking forward to launching an even better program this spring,” says Mr. James Fawthrop, Manager of Facilities and Recreation. “Businesses and community groups are now able to reserve and pay for their Pop-Up online using our new PerfectMind software.”

Pop-Up shops are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis, with some restrictions. The first available date is June 14 outdoor retail activities are expected to be permitted as the Province moves into Step One of the Reopening Plan at that time. Regulations and timelines may change. If your booking is affected by a COVID-19 regulation change, City staff will contact you to reschedule within the same month. There is no cost to reschedule and full refunds are available.
