Inaugural Edition of Brides First in time for Wedding Expo

Cornwall Ontario – Couples looking to get married have a new resource – the Brides First magazine.

The glossy full colour publication has 16 pages of photographs and articles, all along the theme of answering questions from prospective brides and grooms.

The magazine represents a partnership between 3D Creations, organizers of an annual bridal show, and The Local Seeker, a weekly community newspaper. The magazine debuted at the Bridal Show on October 29 at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Centre.

“We give the brides a goody bag filled with interesting stuff and usually put in a generic bridal magazine,” said Mai-Liis Renaud, event coordinator. “But this year, we decided to partner up with the Local Seeker Media Group and make our own.  The Seeker took care of the artwork and we went to Astro for printing. We are extremely happy with the end result and hope you too, will be impressed with Brides First.”

The content of the magazine is local, from cover to cover and features local businesses, local people and local venues.  From pre-marital advice by the Love Hawk, Shannon Ferguson, to tips on picking out floral arrangements, photographers and wedding destinations, it has it all.

“When it came to choosing the stunning artwork that would become the front of our magazine, we could have gone to a basic stock photo,” said Julia Lucio, Editor of Brides First.  “But because there is so much talent to be found in this area, so many visual geniuses who live and breathe SD&G, it made no sense at all to do so.  So we ran a contest.”

After receiving 25 submissions, the public voted and a photo by Cassandra Tait of Tender Moments Photography was chosen.
