New Dining Choices In Cornwall
May 21, 2015Cornwall Ontario – Four new restaurants have opened in Cornwall offering a variety of dining choices to residents and visitors.
Captain George’s Fish & Chips and Cowan’s Dairy Bar are located next to each other on Second Street in the West end of Cornwall while Thai Express and Sushi Shop share a unit in a commercial plaza on Brookdale Avenue.
While the meal choices at each restaurant are certainly different, it is the variety of choice that ensures a vibrant dining scene in the city.
The owner of Captain George’s Fish & Chips says that while people are raving about the fish, they often come back for the fries.
“We only use fresh-cut fries,” said Surinder Gill.
Here are the details of the new dining spots:
Captain George’s Fish & Chips
Captain George’s Fish & Chips specializes in authentic English-style fish and chips. The restaurant menu contains haddock, halibut, cod and whitefish amongst other freshly prepared items such as home burgers, wraps and soups. Captain George’s Fish & Chips is located at 1195 Second Street West and is open from 11:00AM-8:00PM on Monday through Thursdays, 11:00AM-9:00PM on Friday and Saturday and 11:00AM-8:00PM on Sunday.
Cowan’s Dairy Bar
Cowan’s Dairy Bar offers ice cream treats, ice cream cakes, parfaits and more. Cowan’s Dairy can trace its corporate lineage back to the early 1900s. The Dairy Bar is located at 1380 Second Street West and is open from 6:30AM-9:00PM on Monday through Saturday and 7:30AM-9:00PM on Sunday.
Thai Express
Thai Express offers a wide variety of choices such as soups, rolls, dumplings, general thai, pad thai and more. The popular chain restaurant has 224 locations across Canada, now including Cornwall. Thai Express is located at 1232 Brookdale Avenue in the Brookdale Centre and is open from 11:00AM-9:00PM on Monday through Sunday.
Sushi Shop
The Sushi Shop shares its space with Thai Express, offering its patrons sushi, sashimi and other Japanese specialties, with the option of both takeout and sit-down style meals. Sushi Shop has 130 locations in Quebec and Ontario and the Cornwall restaurant is open from 11:00AM-9:00PM on Monday through Sunday.
