Ontario East Municipal Conference to be held in Cornwall in 2018November 16, 2017
Cornwall Ontario – Over 500 delegates from across Eastern Ontario are expected to descend upon the NAV CENTRE next year for the Ontario East Municipal Conference.
This annual conference brings economic developers and municipal leaders from across eastern Ontario together for three days to share best practices and learn from other experts on topics of interest for economic development in their communities.
This will be the first year in recent memory that the Conference has been held outside of Kingston.
“We are very excited to hold the Conference at the NAV CENTRE,” says Bonnie O’Neill, Executive Director with the Ontario East Economic Development Commission. “NAV gives us modern conference facilities with over 500 rooms on site. It will make for a wonderful experience for our delegates.”
Established in 1989, the Ontario East Municipal Conference (OEMC) has developed into the largest annual regional municipal and economic development conference east of Toronto. In addition to a busy 3-day schedule of seminars and workshops, OEMC also boasts a trade show and a robust social program.
“Cornwall looks forward to welcoming community leaders from across Eastern Ontario, from municipalities both large and small,” says Leslie O’Shaughnessy, Mayor of Cornwall. “Cornwall was a founding member of Ontario East and we remain committed to working with our neighbours for the betterment of the entire region.”
OEMC will be held September 12-14 2018. Advance registration will be available soon at OEMC.ca.
The conference is organized by the Ontario East Economic Development Commission in co-operation with the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs.
