Restaurant Week Back this October
October 7, 2016Cornwall Ontario – One of the region’s favourite culinary events is back and Cornwall’s best chefs are promising once again to tickle the taste buds of patrons lucky enough to score a reservation at one of the 9 participating restaurants.
Restaurant Week will be held over 8 days, giving customers 2 weekends to participate: Thursday October 13th to Saturday October 15th, and Tuesday October 18th to October 22nd. Restaurants will offer guests specially designed 2 or 3 course meals for $24, $28, or $34.
The fixed-price menu provides a unique opportunity for patrons to try different local restaurants via an attractive price point.
“Extending the festivities and introducing a new price point was the natural progression. The customers were literally hungry for more!” says organizer Sebasitien Manigat of Bastion Hospitality. “By adding another weekend and the $34 menu option, we firmly believe this will only be a positive and add more value to the overall experience.”
Participating restaurants include the following. You can click on the links below to see a menu:
- Table 21

- Moustache Joe’s
- Eight Zero Zero
- Peppermills Bakery & Grill
- ESCA Gourmet Pizza + Bar
- Bar Q
- Love Love Food Café, Bistro & Bakery
- Captain George’s Fish & Chips
“It is amazing to see so many people coming together around local food,” says Dominique Gilgen, owner of Table 21 and Truffles Burger Bar. “The enthusiasm is contagious. From our kitchen staff to our servers, we are looking forward to another great week.”
Now in its 5th iteration, the success of the Restaurant Week also has its downside: If you want to avoid disappointment, don’t forget to make your reservations! Last spring the majority of the restaurants were booked solid throughout the week.
The concept of a fixed price menu, often called “prix fixe”, has become popular with both diners and restaurant owners. The concept offers a certain number of items – usually an appetizer, main course and dessert, for a fixed price. Drinks are not included, and gratuities are extra. Some restrictions may apply. For example, fixed price menus are available for dine-in customers only and after 4pm. Reservations are recommended.
