“Business owners have a lot of questions about what they need to do to meet public health guidelines,” says Greg Pietersma, Executive Director of the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce. “We are prepared to answer those questions and provide advice on best practices.”

The conference call is scheduled for 9:00 am on Tuesday May 19.

The conference call will be held on the popular Zoom video conferencing platform, which can accommodate people using webcams as well as people simply calling in. Joining Chamber officials will be other community resources, such as Cornwall Economic Development.

Business owners are invited to register for the conference call using the link below:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Topics discussed in the call will include steps business owners must take with regards to crowd control (floor decals etc), safety and hygiene ( such as plexiglass barriers) and employee training. Information on local suppliers that can equip businesses with signage, protective barriers and PPE will also be provided.

“The opportunity of these meetings is for local businesses to ask questions and share info,” said Mr. Pietersma. “Its easy to join and we hope to have as many retailers, restaurant owners and other businesses as possible join the call.”
