City Launches New Recruitment Tool
March 4, 2024Cornwall Ontario – Available job postings at the City of Cornwall have a different look, thanks to the implementation of a new web-based recruitment system.
The City’s Human Resources department launched the new Atlas system earlier this year, and so far the reaction has been very positive.
“We are receiving very good feedback from job seekers, which is the first step in solidifying our position as an employer of choice in the region,” says Matt Stephenson, Acting General Manager of Human Resources. “Cornwall has a growing economy led by forward thinkers who have made the city an excellent place for a career and raising a family. Choosing a career in municipal government offers an excellent opportunity for personal growth while serving fellow citizens.”
The innovative new system is seamlessly embedded in the City’s career page, where job seekers can view available opportunities. If interested in applying, job seekers can start the online process which allows them to upload documents such as their resume and cover letter. The process is intuitive and user-friendly, and an online help agent named Atlas is there to guide them along the way.
“The goal of the new system was to make the process of posting a job and screening applications more efficient, so that we can match applicants to open positions more quickly,” said Mr. Stephenson. “There are some excellent job openings at the current time, and we encourage people to register with the system and check on a regular basis as new postings will occur in coming weeks and months.”
Summer Students
Each year the City hires dozens of summer students across various departments. Some student positions have been posted, with more to be added shortly. All students must be full time students and be returning in fall of 2024.
