Cornwall’s Breakfast Scene Heats Up with the Opening of Sunset Grill

Sunset Grill offers a wide range of breakfast options including traditional favorites like pancakes, omelets, and French toast, as well as healthier choices such as avocado toast and fresh fruit salads for both dine in or take out. The restaurant also provides specialty coffee drinks, fresh juices, and a variety of teas to complement their full menu of breakfast offerings.
Owner Mashhood Shabbir said Cornwall’s vibrant atmosphere made it an ideal location to bring the franchise business.
“This dynamic environment resonated with me and I saw great potential for a breakfast restaurant that could cater to the diverse needs of the local community and the steady stream of visitors,” said Mr. Shabbir. “The town’s bustling nature indicated a demand for quick and convenient breakfast options, making it an ideal location to establish a business that offers quality breakfast meals to fuel people for their busy days ahead.”
Mr. Shabbir said Sunset Grill’s philosophy is focused on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to ensure exceptional quality and taste in every bite. Additionally, their cozy and welcoming atmosphere, paired with attentive customer service, creates a memorable dining experience for every guest.
Shabbir said the restaurant represents an $850,000 investment in the community, and he expects the business to employ up to 17 people.
In 1985, founder Angelo Christou opened Sunset Grill’s doors for the first time in the Beaches area of Toronto. Within a few short years, business started to do well and more Sunset Grills were opened in downtown Toronto. With the original businesses doing well, they started the franchising journey. There are now more than 75 restaurants spanning across Ontario and Alberta.
