Employer Seminar to Tackle Workforce Recruitment and Retention
April 25, 2024Cornwall Ontario – Local employers will be gathering in May for a seminar that seeks to tackle issues related to the recruitment and retention of workforce.
“Over the last number of years, we’ve seen a shift in the labour market, whereby employers are having difficulty recruiting and retaining staff”, said Mayor Justin Towndale. “This event will provide an opportunity to learn from employers who have implemented new and innovative strategies to address labour challenges in our region, and beyond.”
The Cornwall and SDG Employer Seminar will take place on May 28th and the half-day event is expected to draw over 100 business and community leaders.
“Cornwall Economic Development is pleased to be working with the Social Development Council and many local employment partners to bring this event together,” said Bob Peters, Manager of Economic Development. “The agenda is jam-packed with topic experts, and we know attendees will walk away informed and inspired to try new strategies in their workplace.”
The seminar will cover essential topics crucial to local workforce recruitment and retention strategies in 2024, including:
- Competitive Hiring and Retention Practices in 2024
- Capturing The Potential Of The New Canadian Workforce
- Employer-Led Workforce Housing And Accommodation
- Growing And Harvesting Local Talent
Each session will feature experienced guest speakers and Q&A sessions, allowing attendees to engage directly with local experts and fellow employers. Employers will walk away with valuable insights and practical strategies to strengthen their workforce and navigate the evolving landscape of employment. Hot Breakfast and refreshments will be provided.
