JobsNow Program Helping People Transition to Employment

Cornwall Ontario – The Eastern Ontario Training Board (EOTB) is looking to help local residents develop the necessary skills to transition to employment.

JobsNow - EOTB

Recruitment is currently underway to secure participants for the JobsNow and JobsNow-Youth projects.

Participants will receive assistance in securing employment and EOTB will provide employers with a wage subsidy between $10-12/hr 30-40 hours per week for 12-20 weeks (depending on the program). Some financial supports available to assist participants in transitioning to employment such as work attire.

Eligibility Criteria for JobsNow

  • Unemployed
  • Not in receipt of Employment Insurance
  • Experience a self-identified disability (ex. learning disability, physical injury or illness, mental health)
  • Resident of Cornwall, SDG, Akwesasne (Ontario) and legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee)

Eligibility Criteria for JobsNow – Youth

  • Unemployed
  • Between the ages of 15 and 30 years old
  • Experience at least one barrier to employment (including, but not limited to: lone parent, recipient of social assistance/no income, experience a disability, live in a rural community, visible minority)
  • Resident of Cornwall, SDG, Akwesasne (Ontario) and legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee)
