New Online Platform Will Help Companies Fill Product & Service Gaps
April 8, 2020Cornwall, Ontario – Ontario Centres For Excellence (OCE) and its industry partners are working to identify technologies, businesses and experts from Ontario that are able to assist in filling the current product and services that are needed for COVID-19.
Organizations that are working on innovative products or services or have expertise that is able to support Ontario’s response to COVID-19 have been asked to share their capabilities, needs and potential barriers through an online COVID-19 Collaboration Platform.
If a company or individual has a piece of the puzzle – whether it is an asset, a technology or a product – and is looking for collaborators, OCE is looking to to hear from them. The organization will draw on its extensive network of businesses, subject-matter experts and Business Development managers, to help Ontario innovators to make the connections necessary to accelerate their products and services to market. Solution seekers will be matched with solution providers.
The collaboration platform shows needs in many areas such as:
- Advanced materials
- Production and clean room
- AI and data solutions
- Ventilators
- Protective gear
- Vaccine, medicine, virus detection, and sensors
- Sterilization
- Quality control, certification, regulatory, labeling, marking, and packaging
- Logistics, remote healthcare, tools, and services
- 3D printing
- Clean room capability
- Sterilization capability
- Plastic processing
- Metal processing
- Electronic assembly
- General fabrication, assembly, and packaging
OCE is directing companies whose product or service is procurement ready, and meets the requirement of Ontario’s call to action, to go directly to the Ontario Together submission form. Companies whose product is not yet commercialized or procurement ready are being directed to a Collaboration form on the platform.
The collaboration platform has been launched by OCE and is supported by many partners, including MaRS Discovery District, Invest Ottawa, Communitech and the Automotive Parts Manufacturer’s Association. For additional information visit
The Ontario government is currently requesting assistance from those businesses and individuals who can supply emergency products like ventilators, swabs and masks or who can submit innovative solutions. They are also seeking other products and services to help us through the COVID-19 crisis.
