New Training Programs at the Tri-County Literacy Council
November 5, 2025Cornwall Ontario – The Tri-County Literacy Council is launching a couple of new training programs this fall – at its new downtown location!

In these training programs, participants practice Skills for Success, while learning about the specific topic chosen. Successful learners receive a certificate.
Foundations of a Social Services Worker – Starting November 13
The “Foundations of a Social Services Worker” course helps people learn about jobs that support individuals, families, and communities. It is a great way to explore if a career in social services is right for you. It gives you helpful skills, useful knowledge, and a strong start for future education or entry-level jobs in the field.
This program is perfect for:
- People thinking about changing careers
- Learners who want to explore social services work
- Anyone who enjoys helping others and wants to build strong communication and professional skills

Class runs for 5 weeks, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1–3 p.m., starting November 13th.

About the Tri-County Literacy Council
The Tri-County Literacy Council is a non-profit organization that specializes in adult literacy instruction, including Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) upgrading, Grade 12 / Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) preparation, apprenticeship preparation, computer basics training, job readiness training for entry-level positions, and Better Living programs. The agency also offers educational assessments and develops training plans based on an individual’s goals. All programs and services are free of charge.
