Ontario Hockey Academy Reveals Expansion Plans
January 5, 2024Cornwall Ontario – The Ontario Hockey Academy is expanding its school campus to keep up with enquiries and demand from the European and Asian countries.
Since opening its doors in 2008, OHA has flourished as a perennial powerhouse in the world of education-based hockey institution with a current school population of 170 students from 32 countries, all who make Cornwall home for 9 month and their choice for a private high-school education. Graduating students have received scholarships to many of the world’s best universities like Harvard, McGill, Cornell, Princeton, Colgate, and Queens while sending students to playing hockey in Universities, Olympics, NHL and professionally oversees.
The expansion, commencing in 2024, will see a range of new facilities , including the creation of a new 12,000-foot training complex that gives students access to state-of-the-art amenities for elite athlete development. Future expansions include a new classroom block with enhanced educational area dedicated science, technology, and mathematics disciplines. complimented by a further modernization of student spaces, administrative offices, and cafeteria area.
“This is an exciting time for the academy as we expand with much needed facilities” said Kayla Lascelle, the school’s director of educational services. “As enquiries and registrations continue to rise, we are keen to look to the future and reimagine the site these students call home for 4 years for their high school education.”
The Academy 50 staff includes teachers, coaches, trainers, administrators, and food services workforce.
