Spots Still Available at Ontario Emerging Jobs Institute

Cornwall Ontario – There is still time to apply to the Ontario Emerging Jobs Institute.

The Ontario Emerging Jobs Institute (OEJI) is a 5-to-10 week bootcamp program for Ontario residents. As many as 160 students will train for the growing demand for skilled workers in areas identified as high need.

“There is still time to apply to our programs.” says Kelly Bergeron, lead for the OEJI project. “We’re happy to welcome an additional wave of students.”

OEJI is based out of the Cornwall Innovation Centrec which is located at the NAV CENTRE. The unique program offers free-bootcamp-style training and work placements for jobs of the future in four learning streams:

  • Digital Skills: Designed to equip students with the skills necessary for a career in the digital sector. Curriculum was developed as part of the Canada Learning Code Digital Skills program.
  • Agritech Skills: Designed to teach learners about modern technologies that can be used to enhance farmers’ productivity and efficiency.
  • Business Skills: Designed to train students to be innovative business leaders of tomorrow.
  • Blended Learning: Designed to prepare advanced learners in the new economy using a combination of in-person and online training.

Enrollment continues through the website’s application portal, as well as the mobile app (available for both iOS and Android) until January 14. The program is open to all Ontarians and is free to all qualified applicants.

The Ontario Emerging Jobs Institute will officially open its doors to students on January 14, 2019.

The institute offers free, bootcamp-style training and work placements for jobs of the future starting in January 2019. OEJI is made possible thanks to local partners and funding received from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
