STUFF Magazine Profiles Careers in the RegionNovember 17, 2021
Cornwall Ontario From everyday items like hockey tape, cheese curds and Adirondack chairs, to world-class products in every sector, what’s made and built in Eastern Ontario is truly impressive.
Making it work, that’s the theme of the 2022 issue of STUFF Made and Built in Eastern Ontario, an interactive digital and print magazine celebrating the successes and promoting the opportunities in the region’s manufacturing and construction industries.
“We have so many incredible success stories locally that we wanted to bring together companies looking to hire, with people who perhaps haven’t considered the sector as a career choice,” says STUFF publisher Terry Tyo.
The 2021/2022 edition highlights the fact that these industries are experiencing a boom and a digital transformation, creating well-paying and rewarding careers in communities across Eastern Ontario. The magazine includes a two page profile on Cornwall, in addition to information on local companies including SigmaPoint, Laminacorr, Morbern, Matrix Logistics, and St. Lawrence College.
“There are over 500 jobs available in Cornwall right now, and the latest edition of STUFF helps to get the word out about these career opportunities,” says Mayor Glen Grant. “It is nice to see the magazine supported by both the private and public sector as we highlight the advantages of working in Eastern Ontario.”
The magazine will be promoted to multiple audiences including a 1 million impression digital campaign targeting job seekers across the region.
“We’re excited to be a partner in STUFF Made and Built in Eastern Ontario by making the magazine available to students at the 13 school boards across the region. It’s a valuable tool to inform students, parents and job seekers about the exciting careers that are available in manufacturing, construction and related industries,” says Lydia Hamilton Regional Board Co-Chair of the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program.
This is the third year that STUFF magazine has been published. In addition to the print edition, STUFF is also available in digital format on its own website which features the digital magazine, as well as a career/job section where visitors will be able to review all of the manufacturer and builder profiles from the magazine in detail. Copies of STUFF are available at the Civic Complex and on request from Cornwall Economic Development via the online Information Request form. You can also view the magazine online here:
