Community Funding 101 Presented Opportunities and Tips

February 22, 2024
By Kat Rendek

Cornwall, ON – Nearly 100 people gathered yesterday at the Civic Complex to learn about funding opportunities and gain valuable tips for writing grants during the Community Funding 101 workshop.

The evening session – which was free to attend – gave attendees a chance to hear about 20 different funding programs available in the areas of tourism, community programming, capital, business and more. Attendees also learned some fundamentals of grant writing through a workshop provided by regional development advisors with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.

“There are a wide array of funding opportunities available to support community projects and events. We wanted to raise awareness of these opportunities while also helping our community members feel more confident and comfortable with the process of writing grants,” said Kevin Lajoie, Tourism Officer. “The session provided useful information for groups who may be exploring funding opportunities for events, programs, and projects both in the near-term and the long-term.”
