CFDC adds COVID-19 Business Relief AdvisorNovember 19, 2020
Cornwall Ontario – There is a new resource available to local small business owners.
The Cornwall & The Counties Community Futures Development Corporation has expanded its team to deal with issues arising from the pandemic. Doreen Ashton Wagner has accepted the position of COVID-19 Business Relief Advisor and her role will be to assist business owners throughout Akwesasne, Cornwall, and the United Counties of S.D. & G. navigate available COVID-19 support programs.
Ms. Ashton Wagner is a long-time North Glengarry-based entrepreneur who founded Business Sisters / Consoeurs en Affaires, a bilingual social enterprise dedicated to building happy, resilient rural communities by connecting women entrepreneurs so they can learn and thrive.
“We know that one of the biggest hurdles of successfully connecting business owners to available programs is communication,” says Lesley Thompson, Executive Director of the “As COVID-19 Business Relief Advisor, Doreen will meet with business owners to guide them through all the COVID-19 related programs and services. With her experience as a business owner herself, her purpose is to help entrepreneurs identify what they might qualify for and assist them through the application and referral process.’
Funding for the above position was secured through the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF) provided by FedDev Ontario.
