Cornwall BMX Track hosts Provincial Qualifier
July 13, 2023Cornwall Ontario – The Cornwall BMX Track will be welcoming over 200 participants on Sunday, July 16th for the annual Provincial Qualifier at the Guindon Park facility.
One of the biggest annual events for the Cornwall BMX Track, the Provincial Qualifier sees riders competing for points for a chance to gain a provincial number plate in their respective race class that they can run for the next season. The Cornwall track forms part of the qualifier series, with the Provincial Finals taking place in Milton.
“We are expecting from upwards of 250 participants with a total of 500 people visiting the track,” said Cornwall BMX Club President TJ Shail. “We will be welcoming spectators and riders from all over Ontario and Quebec with the ages of participants ranging from 2 to 65.”
The preparations will begin in the morning with the racing action scheduled to start at 12 pm and run through the afternoon.
For anyone wishing to attend the event, it’s free.
“It’s always a great day and it’s a great opportunity to showcase Cornwall to visiting riders and families,” Shail added. “It’s one of the highest-profile events that we host and we look forward to it every year.”
About the Cornwall BMX Track
Located off of the Floral Drive entrance to Guindon Park on Vincent Massey Drive, the Cornwall BMX Track is one of the longest BMX Canada sanctioned tracks in Ontario. The track is home to the Cornwall BMX Club which holds race nights at the facility throughout the summer.
