Cornwall Ontario – Cornwall Economic Development will once again look to attract new retailers to Cornwall at a major commercial retail real estate event this fall.

ICSC Canada Toronto 2025

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) is once again holding their Canadian Conference at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from October 6-8.  The ICSC@Canada event is Canada’s largest retail real estate conference and attracts North America’s largest retailers and commercial developers.

“We are looking to engage retailers in taking a closer look at Cornwall,” said Bob Peters, Manager of Cornwall Economic Development. “There are a number of commercial retail development properties with available space in the city, and we feel there are opportunities for companies to become more active in our market.”

The Cornwall Booth is 115.

This is the 10th consecutive year that Cornwall has exhibited at ICSC. The city has also exhibited at previous ICSC events over the past several years, including Montreal and Whistler.

“ICSC brings together decision makers from both the retailer and developer side of the equation,” says Mr. Peters. “It is an excellent opportunity to promote Cornwall.”

The ChooseCornwall.ca website has also been expanded to include information on commercial real estate opportunities, including available retail properties in the Downtown and Le Village districts. Other information, such as downloadable maps, is available in the Resources section.

Cornwall will be joined at the ICSC show by some of Canada’s largest commercial developers, many of which have active development projects underway in Cornwall.  These include Harden, Smart Centres, Plaza Retail, Iberville, Weaving Baskets Group and Choice Properties.

The above developers have been busy, and a number of new retailers/restaurants are currently establishing or have recently established shop in the City – including Sunrise Records, Subway, Mavericks Donuts and Starbucks.

A vibrant retail and restaurant sector helps to attract new residents to Cornwall and at the same time maximizes the positive impact of consumer spending in the local economy.
