Craftman’s Cafe Opens in Downtown Cornwall
June 20, 2025Cornwall Ontario – People looking for a bite to eat or something to drink have a new option in Downtown Cornwall with the opening of Craftman’s Cafe beside the Cornwall Public Library on Second Street.
Craftman’s Cafe is owned by Rahet Bhamra (RB) and Prabhjeet Singh Bhamra (JB), and the name pays homage to the Punjabi Sikh community’s heritage, drawing inspiration from the craftsmanship for which the Punjabi region of India is well known. With this spirit in mind, the cafe offers more than just food and drink – it creates a space rooted in culture, comfort, and community.
RB and JB bring over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry to their new venture. Both completed their bachelor’s degrees in Hotel Management in India before moving to Canada. After studying Food & Beverage Management at Algonquin College, they worked at renowned establishments such as Fairmont and Brookstreet Hotel. Their extensive experience in both commercial and small restaurant kitchens has now culminated in the launch of their own cafe.
“We bring lots of experience in the industry along with a blend of our own roots from Punjab”, says JB. “We are thankful for the amazing and loving response we got from Cornwall. We hope to continue providing a space like home to enjoy great food and drinks.”
Spanning 1,800 square feet, the new eatery serves breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, freshly in-house baked treats, and, most importantly, coffee. The cozy interior and friendly service aim to provide a welcoming environment where patrons can relax, connect, and enjoy delicious offerings.
Craftman’s Cafe is located at 35 A Second Street East and is open Monday to Saturday 8:30 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. They can be reached by email at craftmanscafe@gmail.com or by phone at 613-263-4737 or 819-319-9594.
