Cornwall Celebrates Small Business Month
October 12, 2021Cornwall Ontario – October is known across Canada as Small Business Month, a time set aside to recognize the important contributions that entrepreneurs make to the economy and to their local communities.
Many events are traditionally focused in third week of October which is referred to as Small Business Week. This year Small Business Week takes place from October 18-24, and there are a number of free local events such as webinars and networking activities meetings to celebrate entrepreneurship. We’ve put together a look at what is happening in our community to help support entrepreneurs.
Bridges to Better Business – Thursday October 21
The Bridges to Better Business event returns this year with a daylong event featuring webinars on timely topics: workforce recruitment, debt repayment and mental health. This is the seventh year in a row that the Bridges event is held in Cornwall and it is organized by the Chamber of Commerce, ACCFutures and the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre. The webinars are free and the day concludes with a keynote speaker and networking event.
Cornwall and Area Job Fair
Workforce recruitment remains an important issue facing local small businesses. The Cornwall and Area Job Fair will be held at the Benson Centre over 5 days stretching from October 19 to October 27. 50 employers will be taking part to provide information on the over 500 available jobs in the area.
