Cornwall Ontario  –  Local artisans, musicians and entrepreneurs can now rent a pop-up stall on Pitt Street during weekend street closures.

“Summertime weekend closures are an opportunity for residents and visitors to re-discover downtown Pitt Street,” said Eric Bergeron, Acting Mayor of the City of Cornwall. “The addition of pop-up stalls expands the number of businesses and organizations who can benefit. I hope residents plan a weekend stroll downtown to see who is popping up.”

This short-term on-street rental space is ideal for small retailers, artisans, artists, and non-profit associations,  and are an addition to the pop-up shops at the corner of Pitt and First Streets.

“We are working closely with the Downtown Business Improvement Association to help make these weekend street closures a success,” said Mark Boileau, General Manager of Planning, Development, and Recreation. “Staff are supporting the closures with pop-up stall rentals, improved signage, and continued promotion.”

The cost is $20 a day, including tax. Insurance is included and paid for by the Cornwall & Area Chamber of Commerce. You don’t need a special event or craft show vendor permit – simply book your stall online.
